Christopher Willingham

Christopher Willingham was born September 13, 1926 to the late Jake and Carrie Terry, in Harris County, Georgia. She joined St. Paul C.M.E. Church in her younger years. Christopher was joined in Holy matrimony to John Lewis Gamble Sr. To this unite three (3) children were born. After the death of her first husband, Christopher later married Joseph Willingham and to this unite one (1) child was born. We knew her as a sister, a loving wife, a devoted mother and grandmother.

She worked for Emory Crawford W. Long Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia until she retired.

Christopher was also the longest living sibling of seventeen sisters and brothers. She transitioned on January 21, 2021, at her home surrounded by her family. She will precede in the death of her father and mother Mr. and Mrs. Jake Terry (Carrie); two (2) husbands John L. Gamble Sr. and Joseph Willingham; and sixteen (16) sisters and brothers.

Her memories will always be remembered by her four(4) loving children; John L. Gamble Jr., Mattie R. Green, Marian G. Horton, and Josette L. Willingham all of Atlanta, Georgia; eight (8) great children; Tony L. Willingham (Helena), Musette L. Wimbush, Tyron L. Horton Jr., Rhotonda Y. Horton, Toriano Gamble, John L. Gamble III, Miles A. Owens, and Racquel M. Brown all of Atlanta, Georgia; sixteen (15) great grandchildren all of Atlanta, Georgia; seven (7) great-great children all of Atlanta, Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss her dearly.
