Laticha Rena Hawkins

On September 27, 1962 in Talbot County, God saw fit to put an angel on Earth.  Her name was Mrs. Laticha Searcy Hawkins, the daughter of the late Leonard Searcy and Rosa Mae Owens Searcy.

She entered into rest on early Sunday morning, July 14, 2019 peacefully in her home in Talbotton, GA.

Laticha accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age when she joined Concord Baptist Church in Woodland, Ga.

She was  educated in the Public Schools of Talbot County and graduated from Central High School in 1981.

In 1989, Laticha was united in holy matrimony to the late Reverend Dr. Sammie Lee Hawkins, Jr.   After marrying Rev. Dr. Hawkins they resided in  Jersey City, N.J. for 16 years until his passing.

Laticha later returned back to her hometown of Talbotton, Ga.  She became employed at Molena Extended Care for nine years as a cook.

She leaves to cherish precious memories three loving children: Jarvis Durham, Ebony Harvey (Kevin) and Valarie Searcy. Seven grandchildren: Xavier, Kiona, De’Asjha, Naquan, Carmelo, Talea and Katlynn.   Her loving mother : Rosa Mae Searcy.  One sister: Sherin (Jeffery) Sutton and one brother: Windell (Gail) Searcy.  Seven aunts and three uncles: Lizzie (Allen) McDowell of Shiloh,Ga.; Bobbie Jean Owens, Gussie Owens and Jessie Owens of Woodland, GA.; Katie (Henry) Davis of New York, Sherlene Powell, Teresa Searcy, Elsie Searcy and Charlie Searcy of Talbotton, GA.; and Lamar Walker of Thomaston, GA.;  Four sister-in-laws and one brother-in-law: Marilyn, Barbara Hawkins and Debra (Michael) Craig of Wrightsville, GA.;  Reneida ( Horatio) Williams of Forsyth, GA.; and Randell Hawkins of Marietta, GA.;

She also leaves host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends  that will miss her dearly.
