Mr. John Marion Prather

Mr. John Marion Prather was born to the late Willie and Nellie Prather on August 12,1950 in Manchester, GA.

He departed this life on October 2,2015 at Warm Springs Medical Center. He had three siblings to proceed him in death Marvin Prather, Willie Prather Jr. and Shirley Prather.

He received his education at Meriwether County Training School and graduated in 1969. He also served time in the military in Vietnam. He retired from General Motors after 30 years.

He was married to the late Norma Turner and to this union they were blessed with three sons. He was a devoted father and grandfather John was also known at the best chef in town. He was a kind man with a helping hand always willing to help.

He leaves to glorify his memory his sons Corey Prather, Emmanuel (Shequita) Prather, Qumarye Prather. Three brothers Arthur Prather (Betty), Leonard Prather (Lavonnia), Bishop Prather (Martha). Two sisters Juanita Prather, Lavonne Prather. Eleven grandchildren, one aunt Daisy Parker of Buffalo, N.Y. and a host of nieces nephews, cousins and friends and a special thanks and love to Keiana Murray and Charsity Atkinson who all will miss him dearly.


Funeral Service will be Saturday, October 10,2015 @1:00pm at New Beginning Community Church in Woodland, GA. The visitation will be Friday, October 9th,2015 from 1:00pm until 8:00pm at Anderson & Marshall Funeral Home, Inc.
