The Obituary
Barbara Ann Harvey
Barbara began her life on March 21, 1951 in Woodland,
Georgia to the late Theodus Giddens and the late Reversa
Harvey. She entered into eternal rest Friday, January 18,
2013 at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, Georgia.
She attended school at Ruth Carter High graduating with
the class of 1969. She received a Diploma in Business
Office Technology from Flint River Technical in 2008.
Barbara gave her life to Christ at an early age at Friendship
Baptist Church. She worked faithfully on the Usher Board
serving the role as Usher President for over 20 years. She
was a faithful church member and would help in any
capacity. She served as the Secretary of the Original Mt.
Carmel Usher Association. She served on the Finance
Committee for the North End Ushers Convention. She
served on the Ushers Convention committee for the
Ushers Training and Annual Picnic.
She was honored in 2008 by the Frances Willard Chapter
400 OES as an outstanding Talbot County Community
Advocate. She was the Treasurer of the Friendly
Neighborhood Club and was the President of the
Woodland Christmas Saving Club.
Barbara was employed at Goody Products for 36 years.
She was so hard working that she held down two jobs for
many years until her health failed.
Her life will be cherish by a loving and devoted daughter,
Lakita Rolax, Woodland, GA; one son-in-law, Brian Rolax,
Ellerslie, GA; one grandson, Jamarcis Rolax, Woodland, GA;
three devoted sisters, Cynthia Carter, (T. L.), Woodland,
GA; Linda Leonard, Manchester, GA; and Beverly Harvey,
Woodland, GA; four brothers, Bennie Harvey (Martha),
Woodland, GA; Henry Harvey, Atlanta, GA; Danny Harvey,
San Jose, GA; and Rodney Leonard, LaGrange, GA; six
nieces, Pattie, Nikki, Qundria, Chona, Kim, and Aila. Seven
nephews Reginald, Terrance, Corey, Keyvares, Minister
Antarrius, Damian, and Larence. Three specials cousins
Yvonia King (Mac), Atlanta, GA; Mary Carter and Fannie
Williams, both of Woodland, GA; two very special friends
Ruby Jackson and Manchester, GA; and Patricia Smith of
Junction City, GA.
