Carrie Lee “Bay” Hodo Thornton was born December 29, 1941, to the late John Sr. and Daisy Hodo.
She attended Meriwether Training School.
She was married to the late William “Honey” Thornton.
She was employed with Milliken until retirement.
Carrie accepted Christ as her personal savior at New Friendship Baptist Church in Greenville, Georgia.
Carrie is preceded in death by her two sisters: Eva Mitchell and Bettye Faye Hodo Chrisolm. One brother: John “Bill” Hodo Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memories to one daughter: Charlene Copeland (Donte) Randolph; Three sons: Christopher Copeland, Calvin (Vicky) Mitchell, and Bobby (Laura) Mitchell all of Manchester, GA.; Two sisters: Mary Smith of Manchester, GA.; Karyn Thomas of Columbus, GA.; one brother: Larry Hodo of Manchester, GA.; One brother-in-law: Bobby Chrisolm. One sister-in-law: Mattie Hodo all of Manchester, GA.; Grandchildren: Roshlan Mitchell (Jermaine) Brown of Tampa, Fla.; D’Neisha Brooks, Charlie Copeland, Zakiyya Chaney, Roseena Terry, Calvert ( Rachael) Mitchell, Atasha (Nicholas) Williams, Antonio Terry, Breanna Bailey, Amerie Randolph, Takila Parham. Twenty-one great grandchildren. One favorite nephew: Prophet Gregory Mitchell. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends that will miss her dearly.
