Woodland, Georgia

Mr. Douglas Washington was born on November 21, 1951, to the late Annie Lee Washington Parrish and Douglas Washington, Sr., in Talbotton, Georgia, and he departed this life at his home in Woodland, Georgia, on October 27, 2025.

Douglas attended Ruth Carter High School and was known for his kind and generous spirit. He had a love for life’s simple joys—playing the lottery, taking walks with his beloved dog, cutting grass, and giving rides to anyone who needed a lift. His laughter, helpful nature, and warm heart touched everyone around him.

He accepted Christ at an early age, and his faith guided him throughout his life. In 1972, he married the love of his life, Mrs. Dorothy Washington, and together they shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and cherished memories.

Douglas was preceded in death by his sister, Kattie Washington, and his brothers, Willie Joe Washington, John Clifford Washington, and Robert Lee Washington.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Dorothy Washington; his children, Tammy Washington (Dwayne) and Calvin Leonard; his grandchildren, Gerald Trice and Dnaja Leonard; his brothers, James Anthony Washington and Ronnie Washington; his sisters, Ada Bell Patrick (Zack), Jacqueline Evon Washington Holt (Larry), and Rebecca Scott; three sisters-in-law, Linda Wilson (Jackie), Mary Leonard, and Alice Leonard; four brothers-in-law, Willie Leonard, Clarence Leonard, James Leonard (Christine), and John Leonard (MaryAnn); and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who will forever treasure his memory.

Douglas will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his love for family, and the kindness he shared with all. His legacy of love, generosity, and joy will live on in the hearts of everyone who knew him.
