In Loving Memory of Fannie Milner
June 12, 1936 – September 11, 2026
On September 11, 2026, Heaven welcomed home one of God's faithful servants as Fannie Milner entered into eternal peace at the age of 90. While our hearts are saddened by her passing, we rejoice in knowing that she has exchanged her earthly home for a heavenly one and now rests in the loving presence of the Lord. Her life was a beautiful testimony of faith, hard work, resilience, and unconditional love. Through every season of life, she remained devoted to her family, her church, and her community, leaving behind a legacy that will continue to inspire generations to come.
Fannie was born on June 12, 1936, in Manchester, Georgia, to the late Randolph Prather and Lula Hunt Prather. She received her education at Meriwether County Training School, where she proudly served as the Business Manager of her graduating class.
At the age of 19, Fannie moved to Buffalo, New York, where she worked in a factory manufacturing television cables. After several years, she returned to Manchester in 1968 and began her career with Goody's Hair Products. As a machine operator trainer, she became known for her dedication, leadership, and strong work ethic. During her remarkable 34 years of service, she received numerous certificates of appreciation and recognition before retiring.
A devoted woman of faith, Fannie joined New Hope Baptist Church at the age of 12 and remained a faithful member throughout her life. She lovingly served as Treasurer of the Senior Choir and was an active participant in the church cantata, which she loved immensely. Music was one of the many ways she expressed her love for God, and she found great joy in worshipping and fellowshipping with her church family. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life and guided her every step.
Fannie was also a dedicated member of the Holy Hill Christmas Savings Club for more than 20 years. She joined the club following the example of her husband, Walter Milner, who was also a member. When asked about her participation, she would simply smile and say, "I just like being a member of The Holy Hill Christmas Savings Club." She resided in Manchester, Georgia, in the original home of Tinie Milner, founder of the Holy Hill Christmas Savings Club, a place rich with family history and cherished memories.
Among her greatest joys were praising God through song, participating in the church cantata, attending worship services, tending to her flowers, traveling, and spending precious time with the family she loved so dearly. Her warm smile, gentle spirit, kind heart, and words of wisdom touched countless lives and will never be forgotten.
Awaiting her arrival in Heaven were her beloved husband, Walter Milner; her loving sons, Anthony Holt and Michael Holt; her parents, Randolph Prather and Lula Hunt Prather; and her brothers, Leroy Prather, Romeo Prather, Willie Henry Prather, and James Prather.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories her loving granddaughter, Kimberley Wildman (husband, Lennox Wildman, Sr.); grandson, Abdul Holt; her great-grandchildren, Arlesia Wildman, Lennox Wildman, Jr., Ailayah Holt, Jamal Holt, and Makailah Holt; her great-great-grandchild, Ayce Holt; along with a host of extended family members, church family, friends, and loved ones who will forever treasure her memory.
Though her physical presence is no longer with us, the lessons she taught, the love she shared, and the faith she exemplified will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, and her legacy will endure for generations to come.
"Well done, good and faithful servant."Matthew 25:23
