George Washington Jackson

March 26, 1939 — August 2, 2019

George “Goat” Jackson made his transition on Friday, August 2, 2019 at the Jonesboro Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.  He was the only child born to Ana Eliza Jackson and Willie C. Whitehead on April 8, 1939 in Shiloh, Georgia.

George was educated in the Meriwether County School System where he met the love of his life, Florence.  George and Florence joined together in Holy Matrimony on March 26, 1961.   To this union three children were born.

George was an active member of New Springfield Baptist Church where he served as a faithful member. He worked on the usher board and sang in the male choir. He was also a faithful all around bus driver for his church.   He really loved the Lord.
