Granville Grier was born on August 26, 1954, in Muscogee County to Armie J. Grier of Woodland, Ga. and the late Henry Grady Grier. 

Granville was educated in Central of Talbotton School. Granville loved to play basketball and baseball. 

Granville was united in holy matrimony to Helen Green.

After school Granville became employed and retired with Pittsburg Paint in East Point, Georgia. Granville was also known as the Neighborhood Dad. 

Granville is preceded in death by his father: Henry “Grady” Grier, two brothers: Grady Jr. and Morris Grier. A mother-in-law: Otha Lee Hardnett.

Granville was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 20, 2024, at Grady Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories a loving wife: Helen Grier of Atlanta, GA.; two children: Nikia and Naudia Grier both of Atlanta, GA.; Five grandchildren: NiKirea, Destiny, Jalen, Kamal Grier and Trevor Curry all of Atlanta, GA.; Two great grandchildren: Amir Lee and Legend Smarr. A loving mother: Armie J. Grier of Woodland, GA.; Three sisters: Alva (Greg) Adams of Talbotton, GA.; Carla and Bernetta Grier both of Woodland, GA.; One brother: Shedrick Grier of Woodland, GA.; Sister-in-laws: Emma(Fred) Weston of Thomaston, GA.; Brenda (Mac) Harper of Warm Springs, GA.; Brother-in-laws: James McKinney of Atlanta, GA.; Earvin King, Leonard Green, Robert Green and Michael Copeland all of Manchester, GA.; Kirk (Lois) Copeland of LaGrange, GA.; Three aunts: Dallas Hollis, Nancy Taylor and Lottie Grier. One uncle: Melvin Grier. He also leaves host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends that will miss him dearly.
