Lucy was born on Monday, June 5, 1944, in Talbotton, Georgia to the late H.K. Taylor and Alice Culpepper Taylor.
Lucy attended Ruth Carter School.
She became employed as a mail carrier with the United States Postal Service, proudly serving her community with dedication and care for many years.

Lucy Griffin passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 16, 2025, at the age of 80.
Lucy was preceded in death by her dear parents, H.K. and Alice Taylor, as well as her siblings Mary Young, Murry Harris, Willie Mae Copeland, Frank Taylor, Martha Ruth, Joan Stephen, and Stanley Taylor, who now embrace her in eternity.
She is survived by her loving son, Dexter Taylor of Atlanta, Georgia, who brought immense joy to her life. Also left to cherish her memory are her five grandchildren: Ashley Taylor, LaDarrien Taylor, Travis Stringer, Detric Taylor, and Elijah Arnold; and her ten great-grandchildren: Ashya Young, Jacobe McKenzie, Khalil Taylor, Rakeem Taylor, Travis Stringer Jr., Rayla Taylor, Alanna Stringer, Makaylah Stringer, Aliyah Stringer, and Brenton Taylor. Her legacy continues through them and all the moments they shared together.
Lucy is also survived by her siblings: Jean (Michael) Coppage of Shiloh, GA, Bernadine Taylor of Plantation, FL, Norman (Margaret) Taylor of Union City, GA, and Roy (Gloria) Taylor. Her passing leaves a profound void in the lives of her numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and countless friends who will miss her dearly.
Lucy Griffin touched the lives of many with her kindness, her dedication, and her unwavering love. Her memory will continue to inspire those who were fortunate to know her, ensuring her legacy of generosity and compassion endures. She will also be missed by all her special cousins, former coworkers, clients and other friends.
