Dignity, courage, strength, resilience and determination are all words that describe Maxine Warren.
On March 31, 2017at 6:15 late Friday evening at the Medical Center in Columbus, Georgia, the angels of heaven descended to earth to deliver Maxine Warren to our Heavenly Father. Maxine was born on February 4, 1995 at the Medical Center in Columbus, Georgia to the loving parents of Jack and Felicia Warren. This precious baby would be a special gift to not only the Warren family, but to many people throughout this world. Maxine's big bright eyes were created to draw people to her. She was known for her beautiful smile, courageous and faithful spirit.
As a baby, doctors predicted that Maxine would not live past a year - but GOD had a different plan! Our heavenly father allowed Maxine to see 22 years of a fulfilled life where she would touch the souls of many near and far. Maxine never allowed her physical inabilities to stop her from pursuing her goals and dreams. She became an inspiration to many. Throughout the countless hospital visits and surgeries, she never complained, but she always encouraged others to believe. She never desired to be anyone other than herself. She was so proud to be Maxine (Cine) Warren. Her laugh, smile, and sense of humor were infectious to many.
Traveling the world excited Maxine. She always made sure she was a part of any family trip. Maxine visited New York, California, Ohio, Kentucky, Florida, Texas, Virginia, Mississippi, Alabama, and the Bahamas. She was a true warrior, fearless of the unthinkable.
One of Maxine's most proudest moments was walking across the stage to receive her high school diploma. After graduating from Manchester High School in 2014, she attended Columbus State University where she majored in Health Science. Her greatest desire was to live in the dormitory as a college student. That desire was fulfilled as she spent almost 3 years on the campus. Next month, Maxine would have been a junior in college.
Maxine was the Secretary for Anderson & Marshall Funeral Home, Inc. She found joy in uploading death certificates, create funeral obituaries to submit to the local newspaper and upload the funeral home's website. In addition, Maxine would have the funeral home employees contact her regarding their work so that she could include it in the payroll and distribute their checks. Additionally, she made the grave markers and toe tags for all funerals.
Maxine loved God and enjoyed going to church. She was a proud member of New Hope Baptist Church where she served previously as junior choir member and junior usher. Maxine was chosen as a delegate to attend the Cane Creek Baptist Association for over 10 years and during that time she volunteered to be a member of the Talent Rally each year. The funds raised from the Talent Rally were used for scholarships and Maxine was the 1st Place winner for nine years and placing 2nd one year. The Cane Creek Baptist Association Congress always knew Maxine would come through with her fundraising efforts and she never disappointed. In 2014, Maxine was awarded the top scholarship from the Cane Creek Baptist Association after years of her assisting others in receiving financial blessings. Maxine always understood the importance of participating in community service activities and she was outstanding in her commitments. Maxine participated in the Miss Delta Sigma Theta pageant in 2003 and won 2nd place. In January 2005, Maxine won the Miss Green and White pageant sponsored by the Lagrange Chapter of the Links, Inc. The ability to give and care for others was Maxine's greatest gifts from God.
Maxine was known as a social media butterfly and a technology gadget guru. Any and all new technology that existed, Maxine would be the first to have it and made sure you knew that she had each device. She also provided her family with the latest and greatest family news and updates.
To know Maxine was to understand and learn to enjoy viewing her many "selfies" and mounds of dinner Facebook posts. These posts would be funny to see, as her plates would often show skimpy amounts of food. But within the last two years, her plates began to show larger portions of food which made her family laugh because they knew she couldn't eat it all due to her inability to eat full meals. During her last hospital illness, her mother reminded her to pray and she nodded her head in agreement. Maxine LOVED THE LORD! Maxine was indeed an "Angel" sent from heaven to brighten so many people's lives.
