Roceano Reid

Roceano Reid was born on January 29,1955 to Betty Harris-Evans and Rufus Reid in Meriwether County Georgia. Spending time between Warm Springs, Woodbury and Manchester Georgia. Roceano grew up a country boy, He loved to fish and hunt, Roceano wasn’t shy about his love for eating some of his exotic catches like Rabbits, Gater, Squirrels and Deer. He was a man that enjoyed the simple things in life and never forgot his country down home roots.

Over time Roceano moved away from the simple life in the country to the big city Atlanta Georgia where he spent the majority of his life and had various jobs through the years, two of his most favorite included working at the cemetery and working security. And recently yard work with his cousin Keith and nephew Elijah, He took a lot of pride in his work.

Roceano also was a skilled musician, he loved playing his various instruments such as the trombone and guitar. Roceano was an avid listener to the Blues, Jazz, the Gospel, Soul and R&B Music.

Roceano, known as “Rock” and “Rachii” to friends and family, He will be greatly missed. As his nickname implies, “Rock” was the definition of resilience, he never let a disability or challenges hold him back. Along with his great resiliency, “Rock“was known for his kindness, his calm demeanor and his positive outlook on life which inspired others as he maintained his strong faith until his last moment on earth.

He is preceded in death by his Mother Betty Evans, his Father Rufus Reid Sr., lastly his sisters: Ella Mae Reid and Betty J Reid.

Roceano leaves behind living his sisters: Rose Marie Reid of Rochester, New York, Marilyn Evans of Indianapolis, Indiana and Brother: Rufus Reid Jr. Of Orlando, Florida. A stepdaughter: Mrs. Peggy A. Owolabi (Husband, Sam). He also leaves behind a wealth of cousins, nieces and nephews, all of whom he shared a special bond with.
