Virginia Nell Owens

Virginia Prather Owens was born on November 11, 1933 to Emily Steed and Jessie Marshall. She was called home on October 13th, 2020 at West Georgia Medical Center, 1514 Vernon Rd, LaGrange GA 30240. She attended Meriwether County Schools (Campbell). She was employed many years at Playtex International and Goodys in Manchester, GA.

She was united in holy matrimony to the late Willie Henry Prather Sr. and to this union 5 children were born. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Henry Prather Sr. Many years later she found love and union with Hardy Owens who preceded her in death. Her beloved daughter Yvonne Hardnett also preceded in death. She leaves to cherish her memories four Children: Willie (Geneita) Prather, of San Antonio, Texas, Timothy (LaTonga) Prather of Sharpsburg, GA; Gary (Patrica) Prather of LaGrange, GA; Roderick (Linda) Prather of Woodbury, GA. Stepson: Marvin Gray of LaGrange, GA Grandchildren: Derrick Hardnett, Dexter Hardnett, Brandon Prather, Toni Prather, Stefen Prather, Dameion Antwan Prather, Chlothilda Mekia Prather, Joshua Cordarrel Prather, TJ Miller, Milanjay (MJ) Prather, Geevre Prather, Kiven, Prather, Akera Prather, Brianna Prather, Timothy Prather, Samuel Thorton, Mellisa Gray Great Grandchildern: fourteen Great Great Grandchildren: four A Loving God Daughter: Yulanda Childs Parks of LaGrange, GA Sister in law(s): Mattie Emma Steed of Atlanta, GA and Fannie Holt of Manchester, Ga Special Cousins: David (Hattie Pearl) Steed, Betsy Ellison, Wallace (Lorice) Steed Special Niece: Dorothy Prather, Catherine Martin, Mammie Prather, Mary Ann Prather She leaves her devoted best friend Julia Williams, and a host of family and friends who will miss her dearly.
